With economic losses of $940 billion per year, this report argues that the potential for effective partnership can generate a triple win for the economy, food security and environment. A call for all sectors to set targets, measure them, and take action.

Unsurprisingly, taking action significantly outweighs the costs. The report has direct relevance to public-private engagement since it details interviews with public and private decision makers as to why food waste reduction is not being implemented at scale. Often, waste is ‘the accepted cost of doing business’. There are lessons here for everyone.
