Unilever is driving change within the palm oil industry with a focus on more efficient land use and forest protection. The production of palm oil alone is a drastic contributor to land degradation, soil erosion, biodiversity loss, and water pollution. Since Unilever are the single biggest user of palm in the consumer goods industry - using about one million tonnes of crude palm oil a year, it is essential that its strategy goes even further to stay within the planet’s boundaries
