This briefing addresses the distinct roles that each partner can play in promoting nutrition under the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Plan (CAADP). It goes without saying that market-based approaches rely on awareness raising and education around nutrition, and Chapter Three has a particularly helpful discussion of nutrition-related business models in this context. The opportunity to develop business models for base of the pyramid markets is also summarised, since multi-sector partnerships are both driven and constrained by risk, cost, and technology. Importantly, CAADP’s clear overarching policy framework for addressing nutrition and food security can lend itself towards local private sector development and employment.
