This policy brief evaluates Nigeria's 2016–2025 National Policy on Food and Nutrition and outlines the need for a revised, food systems-transformative approach. Despite progress in areas like anemia reduction and access to iodized salt, challenges persist in stunting, child malnutrition, and food insecurity. The updated policy should integrate climate resilience, strengthen legislative frameworks, enhance partnerships, promote healthy diets, and engage the private sector. Recommendations focus on sustainability, food safety, trade policies, and gender inclusion to build resilient and inclusive food systems in Nigeria.
