Youth in Tanzania are highly active at community level but remain excluded from formal food systems governance. The brief proposes a three-level youth engagement framework (Consulted, Represented, Targeted) and highlights strong entry points through existing programmes like TYAFS and BBT-YIA. Key recommendations include creating formal youth roles in policy platforms, strengthening local-to-national representation, improving cross-ministerial coordination, and investing in youth leadership pathways to ensure inclusive, climate-resilient, nutrition-sensitive food system transformation.
