This study investigates the interplay between food safety and dietary diversity in urban Ghana, analyzing microbial contamination and household dietary habits. Data from market and household surveys in three major cities highlight seasonal spikes in foodborne illnesses during the dry season. Despite relatively high dietary diversity scores, food safety remains a concern due to contamination in traditional markets. Recommendations include strengthening enforcement of food safety standards in urban settings.
