The Food and Agriculture Business (FAB) Principles are the outcome of a broad and inclusive multi-stakeholder process comprising over 20 consultations globally and including over 1,000 businesses, UN agencies and civil society organizations involved in agriculture, nutrition and food systems. The principles include:

  1. Aim for food security, health and nutrition
  2. Be environmentally responsible
  3. Ensure economic viability and share value
  4. Respect human rights, create decent work and help communities to thrive
  5. Encourage good governance and accountability
  6. Promote access and transfer of knowledge, skills and technology

Companies are encouraged to adhere to the principles and report back on their progress through their Communication on the Progress (COP). For more information, visit: Food and Agriculture Business Principles
