A comprehensive and helpful overview of farmer organizations, including a chapter on lessons for success. This review was commissioned by the U.K. Department for International Development and offers a particularly helpful table outlining objectives for farmers, private companies, government, and NGOs. There is also a table showing the principal relationships between clients, suppliers of capital, governments, farmer organizations, private companies, and NGOs. The focus on aligning incentive structures gives the review real-world applicability. A worthwhile read for anyone wanting to better understand what drives effective collaboration with farmer organizations.
