This study assesses the environmental and nutritional impact of dietary patterns among 2-year-old children in Norway. It compares the current diet with two scenario diets aligned with the Norwegian Food-Based Dietary Guidelines (FBDG) and the EAT-Lancet diet. The findings reveal that scenario diets significantly reduce environmental impacts, particularly water use and greenhouse gas emissions, while meeting nutritional requirements. The research highlights the potential benefits of plant-based diets for reducing the environmental footprint without compromising dietary adequacy.
