This study investigates the relationship between food literacy and healthy food-choice priorities among adults living in Saudi Arabia. Conducted as a cross-sectional web-based survey, the research included 901 adult participants from multiple regions of the Kingdom and aimed to evaluate food literacy levels, healthy food-choice priorities, and associated sociodemographic factors.
The authors define food literacy as the ability to access, understand, evaluate, and apply nutrition and food-related information in daily life. The study emphasizes that food literacy extends beyond basic nutrition knowledge and includes practical competencies such as meal planning, label interpretation, and informed food selection.
