This review explores the impact of climate change on nutrition and food security in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR). It identifies rising temperatures, declining water availability, and extreme weather events as major threats to food production and nutrition. Vulnerable populations, including women, children, and displaced individuals, are expected to face worsening nutritional challenges.

The study underscores the urgent need for climate-adaptive policies and sustainable food systems to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on nutrition. The paper also presents recommendations from the Initiative on Climate Action and Nutrition (I-CAN) to enhance regional resilience.
