This cross-sectional study, led by Mushary H. Al-Dakheel and colleagues, investigates the use of iodized salt across Saudi Arabia. It reveals that 68.7% of households used iodized salt, with significant regional differences in usage. Despite this, the national coverage falls short of the Universal Salt Iodization goal of 90%. The study also found that many iodized salt samples contained iodine levels higher than the recommended range. The findings underscore the need for public awareness campaigns and stronger regulations to ensure adequate and safe iodization practices throughout the country.
