Fortified for Good: Driving Fortification for a Healthier World

Malnutrition continues to affect over 2 billion people worldwide, undermining human potential and slowing economic progress. The Fortified for Good campaign positions food fortification as a practical, proven solution to this widespread challenge—one that enhances food safety, improves nutrition security, and supports stronger, more resilient health systems. By enriching staple foods with essential vitamins and minerals, fortification contributes to healthier populations. It delivers remarkable economic benefits, generating up to $27 in returns for every $1 invested through improved health, productivity, and educational outcomes, especially in low- and middle-income countries.

The Fortified for Good campaign will highlight how Nutrition Connect and GAIN are advancing fortification innovation, shaping policies, and building impactful partnerships. Spanning Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, the campaign will amplify success stories, spark cross-sector collaboration, and elevate food fortification as a vital intervention to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDGs 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
