This qualitative study investigates Swedish consumers' perceptions and cognitive responses to nutrition and health claims on food labels. Through interviews, the study identifies five cognitive approaches based on factors like health awareness, environmental concerns, and personal trust in food manufacturers. Results highlight the complexity of consumer responses and suggest that clear, credible claims are essential for effective communication and consumer confidence in health-related food labeling.
