This study evaluates the dietary quality and environmental impact of foods consumed by Norwegian adults, classified using the NOVA system. Ultra-processed foods (UPFs) constituted 48% of energy intake but had lower nutritional quality and higher environmental costs compared to minimally processed foods. These findings highlight the need for dietary policies targeting UPF reduction to enhance health and sustainability.
