This study examines the effects of climate change adaptation strategies on food security and sesame production in Western Ethiopia. Using data from 400 farm households and employing two-stage least square (2SLS) and double-hurdle models, the study finds that climate variability (e.g., rainfall and temperature) negatively impacts food security and sesame yields. Adaptation strategies like agronomic practices, irrigation, and soil and water conservation significantly reduced climate risks and enhanced both food security and sesame production levels. The study underscores the need for policies that promote climate adaptation to improve household food security and sustain sesame cultivation.
