This research assesses how healthier diets and improved agricultural productivity in the U.S. can support sustainability and climate objectives. Using models like the US FABLE Calculator, the study reveals that dietary shifts away from animal-based foods could cut agricultural emissions by 25–57% and reduce pastureland by up to 38%. Enhanced crop productivity also offers modest emissions reductions. The study provides insights into the dual role of diet and productivity in achieving U.S. climate targets, particularly in agriculture and land use.
