This study examines the food safety knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) of food vendors involved in Nigeria's Home-Grown School Feeding Program (HGSFP). Using a survey of 240 vendors, results indicate that education and access to information significantly impact food safety knowledge, while experience improves attitudes. However, larger household sizes and reliance on informal information sources negatively influence practices. The study suggests prioritizing food safety training and establishing higher education criteria for hiring food vendors to reduce contamination risks in school meal programs.
