Fixing food 2018: best practices towards the Sustainable Development Goals investigates best practices in food sustainability across the world, using the Food Sustainability Index (FSI) as a framework. The report provides case studies across three areas: food loss and waste; sustainable agriculture; and nutritional challenges. There is a very helpful infographic (also below) that depicts the economic, social and environmental dimensions of the key food system indicators included in the FSI, and demonstrates the important link between food systems and making progress across the SDGs.
The authors call for all players in the supply chain, from governments to the private sector, smallholder farmers, academia, international organisations and consumers to take action.
