This FAO project in South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces aimed to boost food security by enhancing mussel and oyster farming. Despite COVID-19 delays, improved bivalve culture systems were implemented, and 150,000 scallop seeds were produced. Manuals on oyster, mussel, and scallop farming were created and shared with cooperatives. Training for 200 farmers and planners was planned but partially delivered. The initiative built local capacity and promoted gender and environmental sustainability.
