This case study examines Georgia’s transition from a non-digital to a fully digital food safety control system, implemented by the National Food Agency. The new system enables real-time assessment of food safety compliance, enhances risk-based planning, and allows for more efficient data collection and analysis. The document outlines the methodological approach used to develop the system, including stakeholder involvement, integration of food safety data, and the use of digital tools such as tablets and online databases. The transition has significantly improved the efficiency of food inspections, enhanced compliance monitoring, and facilitated evidence-based policymaking. Challenges remain in system expansion, legislative integration, and continuous software updates.
