This study, led by Claudia Francisca Martinez and her colleagues, investigates the quality of breakfast consumption and its associated sociodemographic and psychosocial factors in a large sample of Italian children, adolescents, and adults. Utilizing the Breakfast Quality Index (BQI), the research revealed that only a small proportion of the population achieved a high-quality breakfast, with notable regional differences and a correlation between breakfast quality and factors such as age, education, and stress levels. The findings suggest a need for targeted public health interventions to improve breakfast quality, particularly in vulnerable groups.
