The article "Access to Credit and Child Nutritional Outcomes in Ghana" investigates the impact of access to credit on child nutrition in the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) zone of Ghana. The study utilizes anthropometric measures (stunting, wasting, and being underweight) to assess children's nutritional outcomes and employs a three-stage system of simultaneous equations to address the structural system and endogeneity of credit. The findings show that access to formal credit significantly improves children's nutritional outcomes by increasing productivity, market participation, income from crop sales, and ownership of nonfarm businesses. The study suggests that enhancing access to credit can alleviate liquidity constraints and improve food security, ultimately benefiting children's nutrition. The authors recommend implementing full-fledged farm credit policies to support household nutrition through agricultural investments.
