This study assesses the validity and reliability of the Sustainable HEalthy Diet (SHED) index in Turkish adults. With a sample of 558 participants, the index demonstrated high internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.758) and repeatability (r = 0.795). SHED scores positively correlated with Mediterranean diet adherence and higher intake of grains, fruits, and vegetables while showing a negative association with processed foods and sugary beverages. The SHED index effectively measures dietary sustainability and health, offering a robust tool for dietary assessments in Turkey.
