This study examines food fraud awareness and its practices in Tamale, Ghana, focusing on intentional adulteration for economic gain. Surveys from 385 participants reveal limited awareness (54% unaware) and frequent cases of adulteration, mislabeling, and tampering in products like beverages, oils, and spices. Adulterants like "Moora" seeds are commonly used. The study underscores the urgent need for regulatory frameworks, consumer education, and food defense systems like VACCP to combat food fraud's health and economic impacts.
