VKM investigates the dietary cadmium intake in Norway, with a focus on food sources like brown crab meat, offal, and bivalve mollusks, which have high cadmium levels. The findings highlight that consumption of these foods can lead to cadmium exposure above the tolerable weekly intake (TWI), especially in children and adolescents. VKM recommends minimizing cadmium intake from high-risk foods to protect kidney health over the long term.
