This study examines the association between adherence to the Planetary Health Diet Index (PHDI) and genetic susceptibility to obesity using data from 7,037 adults in the Quebec CARTaGENE cohort. Higher PHDI scores were inversely associated with BMI, waist circumference, and body fat percentage. Red meat and whole grain consumption partially mediated genetic obesity risk. Findings highlight the potential role of plant-based diets in mitigating genetic predispositions to obesity.
