This study explores the relationship between the Planetary Health Diet Index (PHDI) and mortality among cancer survivors, using data from 3,442 participants in the NHANES cohort. The findings indicate that higher adherence to the PHD is associated with a 9% reduction in all-cause mortality, a 10% reduction in cancer mortality, and a 10% reduction in non-cancer mortality. The study also identifies Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII) and Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) as mediators, suggesting that inflammation plays a key role in mortality risk among cancer survivors.
