The article highlights the implementation and evaluation of the 'One Full Meal' programme in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, designed to address maternal undernutrition through hot cooked meals, micronutrient supplementation, and counselling. The study, supported by UNICEF, used quantitative and qualitative methods to assess programme effectiveness, reach, and stakeholder perceptions. Findings revealed improved maternal dietary diversity, enhanced intake of quality foods like eggs and milk, and some positive impacts on weight gain during pregnancy. However, gaps remained in iron-folic acid consumption and family planning counselling. The article emphasizes the importance of integrating nutrition interventions with health services, ensuring adequate infrastructure, and expanding programme coverage to vulnerable groups. The overarching theme is that bundled maternal nutrition interventions can significantly improve outcomes, though further efforts are required for scale and quality.
