This multi-center cross-sectional study examined the relationship between maternal nutrition literacy (NL) and adherence to micronutrient supplementation among pregnant women in China. The study found that maternal nutrition literacy is a strong and independent predictor of adherence to iron-folic acid (IFA) and multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS). Women with adequate nutrition literacy were more than three times more likely to adhere to prescribed supplements than women with poor literacy.
