This large-scale study in South Korea investigates the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and suicide risk among over 4 million adults. Results revealed that underweight individuals had a significantly higher risk of suicide, while overweight and obese individuals had a lower risk. This inverse relationship persisted regardless of depression diagnoses or living conditions, suggesting that body mass plays a physiological role in suicide risk.
