This FAO-led project, funded by the Global Environment Facility, aimed to strengthen climate resilience in Angola’s agricultural sector. Implemented through 5,150 Farmer Field Schools, it trained 150,000 farmers in climate-smart agriculture, soil fertility management, and sustainable land practices. The initiative successfully introduced the Chitaka integrated production system, enhancing local adoption of climate adaptation strategies. Despite implementation delays caused by bureaucratic and logistical challenges, the project positively impacted environmental and social resilience. However, its long-term sustainability depends on integrating climate-smart agriculture into national policies.
