FAO supported the Food Security and Agriculture Productivity Project (FSAPP) in Bhutan, strengthening rural livelihoods through climate-smart agriculture. The initiative, implemented with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MoAL), improved productivity, market access, and nutrition education. Key interventions included training 335 farmer groups, developing value chains for priority crops (cardamom, citrus, chili, potato), and integrating school feeding programs. Infrastructure investments such as irrigation channels and post-harvest facilities enhanced resilience against climate change.
