This study examines the effect of participation in social capital networks on maize producers' technical efficiency in Southwest Nigeria. Using data from 300 maize farmers analyzed through Hurdle Negative Binomial and Endogeneity Stochastic Frontier models, findings indicate that participation in social capital networks significantly improves technical efficiency, with an average efficiency of 65%. Key factors include household size, education, experience, and access to agricultural credit. The study recommends strengthening social capital networks to enhance maize productivity and address Nigeria’s supply-demand gap.
