This scoping review assesses the diet quality of athletes aged 18 to 65 using validated diet quality indices (DQIs). The analysis revealed that most athletes' diets were suboptimal, especially in whole grains, fruits, and dairy intake. Protein intake was generally adequate, while fat intake was excessive in some cases. The review emphasizes the need for targeted nutrition education to address these gaps and improve both short-term performance and long-term health outcomes.
