The CASCADE project in Mozambique works across Érati, Nacarôa, and Nampula districts to strengthen food and nutrition security by enhancing multi-sectoral coordination, empowering communities, and promoting private sector engagement. Anchored in the national Food and Nutrition Security Strategy (2024–2030) and Food Fortification Strategy (2023–2027), it focuses on increasing access to healthy diets and building resilience to economic and climate shocks. Key achievements include operationalizing 75 Farmer Field and Business School groups, developing the Communication and Resource Mobilization Strategy for Food Fortification, expanding Ministry of Health’s Nutrition Intervention Package, and helping develop Mozambique’s ESAN III policy. CASCADE’s advocacy influenced the strategy’s approval and aligned national goals with international frameworks such as the SDGs and Agenda 2063.
