This report by the SUN Business Network (SBN) highlights the importance of engaging micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in addressing global malnutrition, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. MSMEs are vital to food systems, delivering 70–80% of food in Africa. However, challenges like inadequate technical support, regulatory hurdles, and a lack of incentives hinder private sector investments in nutrition. SBN, co-convened by the World Food Programme and GAIN, mobilizes businesses to align with national nutrition goals. With 17 active national networks supporting 1,600 businesses, SBN improves access to nutritious foods through partnerships, technical assistance, and advocacy.
