The study "Benchmarking the Determinants of Nutritional Status among Community Schools’ Children in Nepal" examines the factors associated with malnutrition among school-aged children in Nepal, focusing on children enrolled in community schools. Using a cross-sectional study with a sample size of 2,727 students from 98 schools across Nepal, the research highlights high levels of malnutrition, with significant percentages of students being underweight, stunted, or thin. Socio-demographic factors such as family size, wealth status, and geographical location were found to be significant predictors of malnutrition. The study also questions the effectiveness of the Mid Day Meal Program (MDMP) and emphasizes the need for policy re-evaluation and improved nutrition interventions in community schools to address this public health issue.
