This study analyzed the impact of sugary beverage (SB) intake on type 2 diabetes (T2D) risk among 153,862 participants in the UK Biobank. High intake of sugar-sweetened and artificially sweetened beverages was associated with increased T2D risk, whereas moderate consumption of natural juices showed a protective effect. The protective association was stronger in physically active individuals, emphasizing the combined role of diet and exercise in diabetes prevention.
