The paper "Associations of healthy eating patterns with biological aging: national health and nutrition examination survey (NHANES) 1999–2018" examines how healthy dietary patterns influence biological aging based on blood chemistry biomarkers. Using data from 16,666 NHANES participants, the study evaluates the relationship between four dietary metrics (DII, DASH, aMED, HEI-2015) and four biological age measures (HD, AL, KDM, PA). The results indicate that healthier diets are associated with decelerated biological aging, while inflammatory diets accelerate aging. The study highlights that reducing inflammation and blood lipids may contribute to the anti-aging benefits of improved diet quality, especially among those consuming dietary supplements.
