This community-based study investigates the link between dietary patterns and chronic kidney disease (CKD) in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Conducted in Xiangcheng District, Suzhou, China, the study analyzed 5,713 participants using dietary assessments and logistic regression models. Results indicate that a balanced dietary pattern (high in fruits, dairy, eggs, and seafood) is associated with a lower CKD risk, whereas an imbalanced dietary pattern (high in refined grains, red meat, and low dietary diversity) increases CKD risk. The study calls for dietary interventions targeting high-risk elderly populations.
