This study validates and adapts the Psychological Food Involvement Scale (PFIS) for the Turkish population, assessing psychological, emotional, and social relationships with food.

Key findings:

PFIS-TR demonstrated high reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.86–0.94) and strong construct validity.
Exploratory factor analysis identified a four-factor structure (79% variance explained).
Confirmatory factor analysis showed good model fit (GFI = 0.95, RMSEA = 0.05, CFI = 0.98).
Psychological food involvement significantly correlated with food addiction and eating behaviors.
This study supports the use of PFIS-TR as a robust tool for studying psychological aspects of food involvement in Turkey.
