Threshold Effects of Maternal Vitamin C in Late Pregnancy on Infant Social Competence

This cohort study finds a nonlinear relationship between maternal vitamin C levels in late pregnancy and infants’ social development at 6 months. Benefits were strongest at low to moderate vitamin C levels, with no added advantage at high concentrations, supporting personalised, biomarker-guided supplementation during pregnancy.
