The Global Network Against Food Crises (GNAFC) was launched to tackle the root causes of food insecurity through improved analysis, evidence-based policymaking, and coordinated humanitarian responses. Operating from 2018 to 2022, the program focused on agriculture and food emergencies, with support from the European Union. It enhanced crisis monitoring through the Global Report on Food Crises (GRFC) and strengthened the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) to guide humanitarian decision-making. Challenges included institutionalizing analytical tools at the country level and securing stronger leadership engagement. Recommendations include refining communication strategies, expanding learning initiatives, and improving coordination across humanitarian, development, and peace sectors.
