This cross-sectional study by Celeste E. Naude and colleagues evaluates the scope and quality of systematic reviews of nutrition interventions in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR). The study analyzed 470 completed reviews and 169 protocols across 45 Cochrane Review Groups. It highlights that most reviews focused on supplementation (mainly micronutrients) and that half were of high methodological quality according to AMSTAR criteria. The study identified gaps in coverage, including limited focus on food-based and socio-ecological nutrition interventions, and suggests a need for more comprehensive reviews to address the global nutrition burden.
