This OECD West African Paper examines how agricultural trade networks in West Africa respond to shocks such as border closures, conflict, climate change and transport disruptions. Using spatial and social network analysis with livestock trade data (2013–2017), it highlights the importance of transport corridors, border markets and trader networks in maintaining food security and regional integration. The paper proposes a combined spatial, social and temporal framework to strengthen trade resilience and policymaking.
