This cross-sectional study examines the association between emotional eating (EE) and nutrient intake among 303 overweight and obese Iranian women. Results indicate that higher levels of EE correlate with greater energy intake and lower intake of essential nutrients like calcium, riboflavin, and vitamin B12. The study suggests that dietary guidance coupled with psychotherapy may help in managing EE behaviors and improving dietary quality in individuals affected by obesity.
