This randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial evaluated the safety and efficacy of a standardized corn leaf extract (CLE) on sleep quality in 80 healthy adults experiencing difficulty falling or staying asleep. Over a 28-day supplementation period, CLE significantly improved objective sleep measures, including total sleep time, REM sleep, light sleep, sleep efficiency, and reduced sleep onset latency and nighttime awakenings compared with placebo. Subjective sleep quality also improved across multiple domains. CLE was well tolerated, with no clinically relevant adverse events, suggesting that corn leaf extract may be a safe and effective natural alternative for improving sleep quality in adults with mild sleep disturbances.
