This study investigates the impact of a high-potassium meal on vascular function in patients with treated hypertension. A randomized crossover trial showed no significant improvement in postprandial endothelial function after consuming a high-potassium meal compared to a low-potassium meal. However, a slight trend toward improved vascular response was noted at 120 minutes post-meal. The study suggests that acute potassium intake may not directly enhance vascular function, highlighting the complexity of dietary potassium's role in blood pressure management.
