This study evaluates the relationship between the biodiversity of locally cultivated crops and household food security in Northern Iran. Using probit logistic regression and survey data from 227 households, findings reveal that socio-economic factors, including education and gender participation, significantly impact crop diversity. Biodiversity, especially in rice varieties, plays a crucial role in enhancing food security. The study underscores the importance of promoting crop diversity through sustainable practices tailored to local socio-economic and environmental conditions.
